Women herbalists of beauty

Historically, the knowledge of medicinal plants was an intuitive popular wisdom held mainly by women. In harmony with nature, they were at the same time herbalists, healers, midwives and magicians...
They passed on their remedies of "bona fama" (good reputation) from mother to daughter or from grandmother to granddaughter. For this reason they were called "good women". In the Middle Ages, their gardens alarmed the religious authorities of the time who preferred to call them "witches"...

Today, Douces Angevines are a group of women who are sensitive to the power of plants, cultivating their beauty garden, and going together to the heart of nature to collect wild plants.
